Geophysical Explorationand GPR

The question it answersWhat is happening below the surface that borings alone could miss?

Ground penetrating radar, standard penetration test soundings and electrical resistivity testing map subsurface conditions across a site without excavation. GPR is used to determine sinkhole potential, depth to clay layers, bedrock formations and a range of other exploratory questions.

When a sinkhole occurs, Geo-Tech fully assesses the activity, investigates distressed foundations and roadway systems, and provides remediation design recommendations with follow-up monitoring.

Geophysical FAQ.

What is ground penetrating radar used for?

GPR is used to determine sinkhole potential, depth to clay layers, bedrock formations and a range of other subsurface questions, without excavation.

Does GPR replace soil borings?

No. GPR maps conditions across the whole site, and soil borings then confirm what is in the ground at specific locations. Used together they cover more ground than borings alone.

What other geophysical methods does Geo-Tech use?

Cone penetration test soundings and electrical resistivity testing, alongside ground penetrating radar.

What does Geo-Tech do when a sinkhole occurs?

Geo-Tech assesses the sinkhole activity, investigates distressed foundations and roadway systems, provides remediation design recommendations and follows up with monitoring.
